Directions
From Upper Westchester and Connecticut: Take 684 South to 287 East to I-95 South to Exit 16 (North Avenue – Cedar Street). Follow signs to North Avenue. Left turn onto North Avenue. Turn right at second traffic light to Huguenot Street. Take first and immediate left onto Lawton Street (Library Plaza). The library will be on the right.
OR:
Take Hutchinson River Parkway South to Exit 18E – New Rochelle/Mill Road. Bear right onto Mill Road and bear right again at light onto North Avenue. Take North Avenue all the way downtown, about 3 miles. Just after train station and transit center, turn right onto Huguenot Street. Take first and immediate left onto Lawton Street (Library Plaza). The library will be on the right.
From Lower Westchester and Manhattan: Take the Hutchinson River Parkway South to exit 9, toward Whitestone Bridge. Merge onto Hutchinson Parkway South. Take exit 12 – East Lincoln Avenue/Pelham/Mount Vernon. Turn right, and right again onto Lincoln Avenue. Follow Lincoln to North Avenue. Turn right onto North Avenue. Continue on North Avenue for about a half a mile. Just after train station and transit center, turn right onto Huguenot Street. Take an immediate left onto Lawton Street (Library Plaza). The library will be on the right.
OR:
Take I-95 North to Exit 16 (North Avenue – Cedar Street). Turn right at the end of the ramp and follow signs to North Avenue. Left turn onto North Avenue. Turn right at second traffic light to Huguenot Street. Take first and immediate left onto Lawton Street (Library Plaza). The library will be on the right.
Parking
The Lawton Street parking lots – opposite library and next to the library between Lawton Street and Memorial Highway – have multi-space meters which accept coins, bills, MasterCard, VISA, and Discover, and issue receipts. Parking in municipal lots is free on Sundays and holidays.
Public Transport
The New Rochelle Public Library is a mere 5 minute walk from the New Rochelle Train Station and Transit Center. Head southeast on North Avenue or Railroad Avenue/Bridge Street towards Huguenot Street. Turn right on Huguenot Street, then walk across Ruby Dee Park at Library Green (on your left) to the New Rochelle Public Library.

DIRECTIONS

Continue on North Avenue for almost two miles. Huguenot Children’s Library is on the right, in the park in front of New Rochelle High School.
From Lower Westchester and Manhattan: Take I-95 N to exit 9 for Hutchinson Parkway North. Keep left at the fork, follow signs for Hutchinson River Parkway North. Merge onto Hutchinson River Parkway North. Take exit 14 for Pelhamdale Avenue toward New Rochelle Road/New Rochelle. Turn right at Pelhamdale Avenue. Turn left at Eastchester Road and continue to the end. Turn left at North Avenue, Huguenot Children’s Library is immediately on the left, in the park in front of New Rochelle High School.
Parking
Free, on-street parking is available on either side of North Avenue. The library is in close proximity to New Rochelle High School and as you would expect, parking is less plentiful at the beginning and end of the school day.
