Aszmara & Souren Baronian’s Transition Ensemble

Witness dance artist Aszmara in breathtaking costumes as she weaves folkloric tales to the hypnotic rhythms of Armenia, Turkey, and Egypt. Accompanied by master musicians Robert Boghosian on the oud, world-renowned Souren Baronain on clarinet, kaval and dooduk, and Mal Stein on doumbek, this is a fusion of heritage and artistry you won’t forget. Cuban Rhythms with Carlos Jimenez

Afro Peruvian Music and Dance

Join two-time Latin Grammy nominee Araceli Poma for a deep dive into Afro-Peruvian music and dance. Explore traditional instruments—like quijada, cajita, and cajón—then try your footwork with classic dance styles such as marinera, festejo, landó, and tondero. Calpulli Mexican Dance
August 12, 2025

Experience a blaze of color and tradition as our Summer Workshop dancers take the stage in ornate costumes and joyful choreography. Celebrate Mexico’s regional dance heritage in this spectacular outdoor showcase—our festival’s unforgettable finale!

This performance will take place at Ruby Dee Park at Library Green, weather permitting. Registration requested here.
