Each summer, The New Rochelle Public Library and the Friends of the New Rochelle Public Library are delighted bring the renowned International Music and Dance Festival to downtown New Rochelle. Greek American Folklore Society

Gamelan Yowana Sari: Balinese Music and Dance

Immerse yourself in an evening of mesmerizing sounds and captivating movement from the island of Bali. Gamelan Yowana Sari, a renowned ensemble from Queens College, will transport you to the tropics through their mastery of the gamelan – the vibrant percussion orchestra that is the heart of Balinese music. Enhancing the musical landscapes will be the graceful dancing of Miranda Danusugondo, interpreting several of the compositions through the uniquely expressive Balinese dance traditions. Nanny Assis: Brazilian Music and Dance

An evening of pure joy and movement awaits as the dynamic Nanny Assis duo takes the stage, performing the intoxicating rhythms and high-spirited dance traditions from the sun-drenched Northeast region of Brazil. Elijah and the Not-for-Prophets: Klezmer Music

Aszmara and Souren Baronian’s Transition Ensemble

World-renowned dance artist Aszmara will perform in gorgeous costumes, accompanied by folkloric music of Armenia, Turkey and Egypt by master Armenian musicians Robert Boghosian on the oud, Souren Baronain on clarinet, kaval and dooduk, and Mal Stein on doumbek. Registration requested here.
Calpulli Mexican Dance

Join us for the culminating performance by the Capulli Summer Mexican Dance workshop participants. Clad in colorful costumes, dancers will celebrate the rich, regional dance traditions of Mexico’s diverse cultural history.
This performance will take place at Ruby Dee Park at Library Green, weather permitting. Registration requested here.
