Volunteer at the New Rochelle Public Library

The New Rochelle Public Library welcomes adult volunteers who want to make a difference in their community! Our Adult Volunteer Program offers opportunities for residents to share their time, skills, and enthusiasm in support of the Library’s mission to provide outstanding service to the public.

Volunteering at NRPL is a great way to get involved, meet new people, and see how the Library operates “behind the shelves.” Volunteers assist with a variety of tasks, from program support and special projects to helping staff prepare materials and events.

*Applicants must be 18 years or older.

Adult Volunteer Application Process

Complete an online volunteer application form. A paper version of the application may be obtained from, and returned to, the information desk at the Main Library. If you have any questions regarding the volunteer program, please email volunteer@nrpl.org or call 914-813-3701.

Once submitted, applications will be reviewed by Library staff. Those whose interests and skills best match current volunteer opportunities will be contacted to schedule an interview. Applicants selected to volunteer will be required to complete a standard background check before beginning service.

Please note that the full process—from application to your first day—may take several weeks. We appreciate your patience and enthusiasm as we work to match volunteers with meaningful opportunities.
